Nestled Against The Phoenix Mountains Preserve, Bethesda Gardens Phoenix is an exciting and caring assisted living and memory care community. As part of a national faith based organization, we are devoted to service and inspired care in an intimate community. That’s why our people choose us: our mission of service and our commitment to our residents.
Our mission at Bethesda Gardens Phoenix is to serve seniors by enriching their physical, emotional and spiritual health in our intimate community.
Since 1959, our parent company Bethesda Senior Living Communities has been providing quality service to our country’s aging population, and continues to serve with excellence through our independent, assisted living and memory care communities and through benevolent outreach.
As a faith-based organization, we embrace a philosophy of selfless service. For us, faith is more than any particular religious tradition. Rather, we serve seniors and the Monument community through care, advocacy, respect and virtuous business practices.
As a not-for-profit community, giving back is a critical part of our mission. We have a number of outreach programs for our residents and our greater communities. Learn more about our giving programs here.

We provide long-term and short-term assisted living, as well as memory care for residents with most stages of Alzheimer’s or dementia. We have a highly-experienced team well-trained team of professionals dedicated to serving all the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our residents. Our goal is to provide a stimulating environment where residents get to know each other and our team by name.
We have deep roots in the Phoenix community. Our parent company, Bethesda Senior Living Communities is committed to long-term care. While some companies view their facilities as profit-making investments that may be bought and sold when convenient, we are a small, not-for-profit community, meaning our investment is in our residents—now and in the future.
Assisted living becomes appropriate when an otherwise active senior begins having a little trouble getting proper nutrition, maintaining the household or personal care routines, or remembering to take medications. We are staffed 24 hours a day with licensed nurses, medication aides and friendly support team. Together, we ensure our assisted living residents have the help they need when they need it. We provide our residents with maximum privacy and autonomy in an attentive and caring environment.
Yes. Seniors in the beginning stages of dementia may be most comfortable in our assisted living community. Those with more advanced needs may find our memory care community a better option. Our memory care community provides the most intensive care and supervision, as well as specialized activities to engage our residents’ minds. We offer both private and semi-private apartments in a 24-hour secure environment. Our compassionate staff works with each resident and family to create an environment where residents can succeed and thrive while maintaining as much familiarity as possible.
Nursing homes are not the catch-all solution they once were considered to be, primarily because most people do not want to be in one. Nursing homes are designed to provide patients with ongoing, intensive medical and nursing services. And to do this well they must be both intrusive and pricey. For seniors whose health has deteriorated to the point where acute medical intervention is required regularly, the cost and restrictive living environment of a nursing home begins to make sense. But there’s a huge stretch of road between retirement and the nursing home. Our residents enjoy active, productive lives with just enough support. They can discover their independence, their tastes, their hobbies and their worth, while getting the support they need when they need it.
Our Companion Apartments offer unbeatable value, providing an affordable option for high-quality care and the opportunity for isolated older adults to experience the health benefits of connection and community. Studies show that older adults who move from an isolated home environment to a community setting experience even greater health benefits from the daily social interaction than with just adding regular medication management and nutrition at home. In particular, for residents with memory loss, studies show that social interaction supports maintaining cognitive function, language skills, and a healthy routine.
We offer a variety of resources and financial options to help assist seniors and their families to be able to afford the retirement lifestyle that meets their expectations. Our fees are easy to understand, and never hidden. The apartment monthly fee includes: restaurant-style dining, laundry and maintenance, activities and wellness programs, and some transportation. Most residents will pay an additional fee based on their level of care assessment. These fees cover the cost of the additional support their needs require, including: nursing, medication management or administration, bathing, dressing and other personal services. And, as residents outlive their savings, state Medicaid programs and benevolent care help them stay in their home at Bethesda Gardens. We look forward to walking through how our fees will work for you or your loved one during your visit.
It wouldn’t be home without your furry, finned or feathered friend. We encourage residents to bring their faithful companions, and we offer referrals for services such as dog walking.
