We’re excited to host a special networking event, Have Your Cake and Eat It Too, right here at Bethesda Gardens Phoenix on Wednesday, February 21st, from 4:00-6:00PM. In addition to enjoying some sweet treats (which everyone deserves in the middle of winter), visitors will have the chance to meet and mingle with our senior care professionals, including our Executive Director George Bakhit and our Health Services Director, Chantel Westbrooks, LPN.
We hope you’ll join us and find out more about our mission of inspired service—and what we’re doing to make an impact on our residents, their families, and the community we serve. Here’s a little bit about Chantel, and what she enjoys most about our senior living community.
For Chantel Westbrooks, Bethesda Gardens is a little like chocolate cake, offering the comfort of home.
Chantel’s mom has made chocolate cake with chocolate frosting for her birthday her whole life. So, when Chantel eats it, she thinks of home. That’s how she wants Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care residents to feel, too, because our devoted team offers around-the-clock care in our warm and intimate community.
Chantel came to Bethesda Gardens in Phoenix because it is a faith-based nonprofit. “It is well known in the industry that there is something special about the way a nonprofit runs, treats their team members and cares for their residents.”
Chanel said she’s always had a special place in her heart for seniors. She points to one of her residents who has a condition that causes her many challenges. “Helping her through these changes and seeing her brave them and always having a hug and a smile for me is my joy,” she said.
“I love interacting with my residents and knowing that the decisions that I make every day make a difference for those under our care,” she added.
At Bethesda Gardens, Chantel and all of the staff practice “inspired service.” “Inspired service means that what we do every day for our residents and our coworkers, we do in a Christ-like manner. We treat each other as we would treat ourselves or our loved ones and we do that with care, love, and concern for their wellbeing.”
She invites anyone researching assisted living to come visit and ask questions. She thinks Bethesda Gardens is a wonderful option for seniors. “We are all passionate about what we do. Your loved one is not just another number to us. They are a person who we will treat like our own family.”
Come learn more at our “Have Your Cake and Eat It Too” networking event, a celebration of desserts and a chance to mingle with area senior living professionals. Chantel looks forward to meeting you there!
